Círculo de Amigas is a nonprofit that supports girls in gaining an education. Their sponsor program provides girls with the rare opportunity of attending school and university. This is a major accomplishment for these girls as they have worked so hard for something only a small percentage of students in Nicaragua have access to. CdA offers small group and one-on-one tutoring for all of their students; community library and computer lab; hosts regular health clinics for the community; hosts workshops for their students and their mothers on topics ranging from health and family planning, to self-esteem and confidence; CdA students give back to the community, organizing supply drives for the local hospital. In 2017 CdA impacted almost 5,000 beneficiaries through all of these programs!
Your Donation will have a major impact as all funds go directly to the organization. CdA is 100% donation based and each year they support dozens of girls to stay in school which is not easy, and the organization absolutely needs this influx of money to continue the great work they do! The funds will go towards supporting the tutoring program- keeping their full-time tutor on board; help with necessary electrical repairs to the center, which is open to the public as a library and computer center - the only one in the neighborhood. Your donation will help grow the organization and get more girls into the program!
My Goal is to raise $10,000 in the next 3 months. A small portion of this money will fund a trip for my dad and me to return to Jinotega and the rest will be donated to CdA. By traveling to Nicaragua, we will be able to work directly with the organization as there is only so much we can do from home. I have started this campaign with a personal $500 donation to CdA. This trip means so much to me, my family and most importantly, the community of Jinotega.

Update 5/1: I had planned to spend part of the funds on a trip for my dad and myself to fly down to Jinotega, Nicaragua in June to personally assist the organization. Unfortunately, as things stand we will not be traveling due to the recent violence throughout the country. Crime and chaos have exploded, as protests challenge those of the civil war thirty years ago. It is a tragic and extremely unfortunate that we will not be able to go down and assist the organization in person. However, if tensions settle, we will make the attempt to fly down and do our best to support them.
With these tensions, the girls are still extremely in need. It is crucial that Círculo de Amigas survives and continues to impact dozens of girls and have a positive ripple effect on the community in Jinotega. I am committed to my goal and have begun working with friends, family, and local businesses to raise money. Every donation helps and I thank all of those who have helped contribute.
