Jessie and Brent have moved with their family across the country to be sure they can provide their kids with the future they dream for them. These two incredible friends are the type of people who are there for you, no questions asked, whenever you need them! They've found themselves in a tough situation, and it's only fair for us to help support them and help them realize the dream they have for their family, for their children.
The Stephens family have had their house in TN for sale on since May 2017. From the time they listed their home, they contacted their mortgage company, trying to negotiate a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, because they knew they'd be moving a few months later. After two years of underemployment in TN, they knew they had to make a change. They had equity in their home, they had made improvements while living there, and they were up front and honest with their mortgage company from the time they decided to move. Everything seemed to be going well and before they moved out of their home, the mortgage company assured them that all paperwork was in order and they were just waiting in the appraisal to go through.
After the appraisal was done, the family waited. They contacted the mortgage company and left messages. They waited. There were many showings on their home, but no offers. They changed their asking price. They contacted their mortgage company again. They waited...
Fast forward: the family has an offer on the house to close on 1/15/2018, yet, after many issues with the mortgage company, they are in the midst of foreclosure. Although they have an accepted offer, legal fees for foreclosure will keep adding up until they sell the house. Due to the foreclosure fees, this amazing family will end up having to pay out-of-pocket to sell their home. They cannot afford this. They are currently living paycheck-to-paycheck, doing what they need to do to take care of themselves and their children.
It's time to help them sell their home! We're hoping to get $7000 for the Stephens family to cover additional fees beyond their remaining mortgage so they can, indeed, pay off their home on the date of sale. The only alternative is for the sale to fall through and the foreclosure to continue, something no family should have to experience, especially when they've tried so hard to be sure they covered all their bases with their mortgage company.
This family deserves to be free from this burden. They are hard workers. They are amazing parents and incredible friends. If they had anything close to this amount of money and someone else needed it, they would give it generously. What seems impossible to them ($7000) can be possible with our help! Please help us raise this money so Jessie, Brent, Leo, and Ruthie can sell their home in TN and plan for the future they deserve!
