On December 21, Russ had a fight with his SUV. The SUV won. He got a VERY bad wound on his leg that required him to be airlifted to Washington Hospital Center to receive emergency vascular surgery as he was in danger of losing his leg below the knee. After an additional surgery, he was released to Calvert Memorial Hospital to continue his long recovery. Estimates are 6 -10 weeks. Even using all of his sick, personal, & vacation leave for 2015...it will not come close to cover the mountain of bills to come.
Everybody who knows and loves Russ & Heather....not to mention Liam & Kyla (world's cutest grandchildren), have asked what they can do to help. Well, helping them not to fall into a finacial abyss that would follow them for years to come would be a GREAT start. In addition to your prayers for his recovery, any contribution you could make will help so much. If you are not able to do that, feel free to contact Russ to add your support as this is a very hard time for him & the family.
