Our story began back in the summer of 1997...
We met at Gallaudet University when a childhood friend of Heather’s introduced us. We developed a friendship that grew into a dating relationship months later.
We were married in the summer of 2002 and just recently celebrated our 14th anniversary! It wasn’t long before we felt ready and very excited to start a family of our own! However, we had no idea how long and hard of a journey lay before us.
Infertility has been one of our largest struggles. In 2011, we started seeing a fertility specialist. Heather began fertility treatments in 2012 and continued them off and on through 2013. Unfortunately, a medical condition prevented Heather from finishing the fertility treatments. Finally, we were able to do a frozen embryo transfer in 2014. We were surprised and absolutely delighted to learn that the procedure was successful and Heather was finally pregnant!! We were completely devastated when the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. We couldn’t try again as we didn’t have any embryos left to do another transfer.
Even after all of that disappointment, we pressed on and continued to try to start a family of our own. We took another route and did natural fertility remedies for two years. Again, our efforts were not successful. While we have prayed, fought, struggled, and cried through these many obstacles, we continue to strain toward the finish line of holding our babies in our arms. We are trusting God, we won’t give up hope!
We are still believing God to provide our beautiful babies and create a family for us through embryo adoption, just as He has adopted us into His family. Adoption is the Father’s heart! Having a family has been a long time desire for us. We just don’t feel complete without our children in our lives.
While the obstacles in front of us are huge, and
seem nearly impossible to cross, we believe the Lord will provide.
