Jennie & Luke vs Dumb Harvey

As Harvey rolled into Houston he was especially harsh to my sister Jennie and her husband Luke's Dickinson home. In the middle of the night their house quickly filled with water and early this morning was forced to cut a hole in the roof to evacuate their home through the attic. When I spoke to her this morning in the midst of her refrigerator and piano floating around the living room, my big hearted sister was more concerned about trying to make ME laugh and feel better even though I could see the stress in her eyes. With the grace of God her husband Luke was able to flag down a good hearted samaritan with a boat who was able to save them and take them to higher ground, with their two dogs and the clothes on their backs in tow. For that alone they are both undeniably grateful.

Jennie is not one to ask for help in any shape or form in hopes to not inconvenience those around her but as most of you know she would give you the shirt off her back, and then probably Luke's too. And Luke's undeniable love and support for my sister is why he wouldn't even question her for doing so.

They will be starting over, which as most of you know, is tough. Because they are lucky enough to have such loving friends and family that have requested a way to help them out I created this page for 100% of the money raised to go directly to them to help with their fresh start. I would also like to add that if you would instead like to donate/gift them clothes, books, pots/pans or even a replacement Macho Man Randy Savage figurine or TRex cookie jar, their appreciation has no end. They are just two people who are happy that they have each other and their pups, but the little sister in me will do whatever I can to help gather anything you have to spare (megaladon teeth included). I will happily drive to you and pick up any donations you have, and if you feel moved to make a monetary contribution, then this is a way to make sure they receive it.
