Living Expenses for Jenae's boys

Donation protected

On Wednesday, September 11th, Jenae Nixon suddenly passed away from complications from Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Jenae was a loving mom, sister, daughter, grand-daughter, cousin, niece, friend... The list goes on and on. If you knew Jenae personally, you can only imagine how many lives she touched. She was loved by many people.

Jenae battled (and I don't say that lightly- she was a fighter), Vascular Ehler-Danlos Syndrome her whole life. We all knew there was a good chance we would have to face this day eventually. But no one ever wakes up thinking, today is the day we will lose her or today is the day her boys will become parentless. This past Wednesday changed many lives for the rest of our time here on earth. Her boys being the most effected.

Back in 2010, Jenae lost her husband Joshua to  a rare cancer and the boys lost their daddy. She has been super woman raising her boys with the help of her tribe (family and friends) ever since. But unfortunately and heartbreakingly so, with her now gone, these boys have no parents.

Jenae's desire was for her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Gregory Cummings, to raise her boys, Andrew (13) and Joshua (10) if/when this day came.

Gregory and Jennifer have three young boys themselves and do not currently live in a house big enough for their sudden change in needs- something to fit all five boys as they try to make life as "normal" as it ever can be again.  They are going to be amazing at this job but as you can imagine the finances that are to come, will not be easy. Because of Jenae's pre-existing condition, she was not able to obtain life insurance.

Our whole family is so blessed with friends and family offering prayers and love during this unbelievably hard time. For those of you who feel led to or can, I ask that you please donate, whatever the amount, to help support the Cummings family and Jenae's boy with this new chapter in their lives. No amount is too small, every contribution matters.

The money gifted will go towards the costs of Jenae's funeral, legally changing the custody of her boys, transitioning them into their aunt and uncles home, helping provide a home big enough for all of them to live, and other unforeseen financial pressure that will come with growing their family so suddenly.

Thank you so much for your support. It is more appreciated than we will ever be able to put to words.

Love,
Megan- Jenae's sister-cousin
