Jen runs the NYC Marathon in support of Breege

Hi everyone! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page :)

I remember going into the city as a kid to watch my dad run in the NYC Marathon. I stood outside for hours cheering on each runner and I was inspired by my dad and the indescribable joy that filled New York. Since moving to NYC, I have continued to love watching friends, coworkers, and patients meet this exceptional goal.

This year, I do not want to be on the sidelines anymore! My fiance, Chris, and I decided we would do this together.

After committing to this event, I knew I would need to raise money and I thought, how great would it be if I could help someone close to me too?

I would do anything to support my best friend, Delaney Boyer and her family. In March 2021, Delaney’s sister, Breege, was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer when she was just 29 years old. Since then, she has had a mastectomy, had months of chemotherapy and radiation, and entered into a clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering with the hope of giving her 3-5 more years of life. Her cancer has since spread causing her to be removed from the trial to start a new treatment, but Breege has rolled with the punches and remained strong throughout her entire journey. I have seen the devastating impact that cancer has had on Breege, my lifelong best friend, and their parents, family, and friends, but I have also seen the community grow and stand strong behind her. That is why I am choosing to run in honor of Breege and her fight against cancer. I have already raised $3,500 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and now I want to directly support Breege.

Your donation will help Breege and the Boyer family manage necessary expenses that come with fighting cancer such as medical bills, travel expenses, and living expenses, as well as allow Breege the financial freedom to live her best life with family and friends!
