Jean Pierre & Angel's School Fund

Most of you have probably seen my instagram posts with Jean Pierre and Angel, two brothers who I became very close with through my work as Director of the Alvaralice Foundation in Cali, Colombia.
Jean Pierre and Angel are wonderful boys: smart, loving, responsible and creative. Unfortunately they live one of the most impoverished and dangerous neighborhoods in Cali. Gang violence, particularly among young people is common. The public school they attend is both sub-par by education standards and also dangerous given this tenuous social context.
It breaks my heart to think of the tremendous challenges that these boys will come up against over the next few years. I kept asking myself over and over how I can help make their lives just a little easier? What can I do to help them?
Then I came across an oasis in the middle of the desert: a private school run by an american priest, the Our Lady of the Assumption Institute (INSA). Due to its unique curriculum focused on languages (French, Italian, English and Mandarin), and fine arts, INSA has rapidly become one of the best schools in the region. In 2010 and 2014, INSA’s graduating class outranked all other high schools in the region in the Colombian equivalent of the SAT.
Total tuition for both boys is $2000 annualy, a sum which most Colombians could never dream of paying. If just 20 of you donate $100 we can finance them for an entire year! Anything I raise above the $2000 will go into a fund for the boys to for their remaining school years, the total cost which I calculate to be about $32,000.
There is no more powerful life transforming tool than the gift of a good education. Will you help me transform Jean Pierre and Angel's lives? Will you help me ensure that these beautiful boys can enjoy some of the same opportunities that we did growing up?
