Jean and Sylvia' Adoption Fund

Jean and Sylvia's story are known by many.  These are two people who have a heart after God and they have helped so many make their dreams come true.  Jean, if you did not know, is a student support specialist.  In short, that means his job is helping young people to have a brighter future.   Sylvia works for a law firm as a paralegal helping people get the help that they need.  They are both very involved in their church and serve wherever they are needed.  Jean and Sylvia also have a non-profit  that serves Haiti where they help children receive an education.

I moved in with these two when I was 16 years old and was pretty lost as many teens are.  I have to give them much credit for where I am today.  They are also the godparents of my two daughters.  The bond that my girls have with them is unreal and I could not be more grateful.

So why a go fund me account?

As I mentioned above, these two have helped so many with their dreams, but they have a big dream that has yet to come true, to start a family of their own.  To most of us it seems simple, but due to medical issues, it unfortunately is not.  Plus when you have been waiting 16 years for your dream to come true that brings a lot of pain as you can imagine.  After many doctor visits, everyone thought they were getting somewhere.  Jean and Sylvia were sent to start the fertility process after several doctors did all they knew to do to help.  They have invested thousands of dollars and lots of time into this, but to have their sweet baby it would all be worth it,   so they thought.  Unfortunately, the doctors did not feel that is was safe to continue this process. What a heartbreak that was to receive that news.  I can't imagine the emotions they must have gone through after hearing this.   I know they continue to trust God and lean on him for their strength.

After a lot of praying and consideration, Jean and Sylvia have decided to start the process of private adoption.  I know they have done research and asked questions for over a year before making this decision.  There were different options they looked into, but this was the one they decided to go with.  I am so very excited for them and I am sure many of you are as well.

I know they would never ask for help, but being their niece I know they are trying to find ways to make this happen.   I thought what can I do to help them and that is when I thought about starting a Go Fund Me.

The agency they are going through is in connection with pregnancy crisis centers across the United States.  These pregnancy centers are set up for mothers to seek counsel if they are not sure what to do now that they are pregnant.  If the mother decides they want to put their baby up for adoption they contact this agency and begin the process of finding parents for the baby before the baby is born.

The private adoption will cost between $25,000 and $30,000.  This includes the home study cost, social worker fees, attorney fees, adoption fee and traveling expenses.

These two people have invested in so many people that the cost should be no issue.  How amazing would it be to know you helped make this dream come true?  Anything you can contribute would help reduce the cost.

Thank you guys so much. Please give if you can and share! This would mean more to Jean and Sylvia than you know!
