Clean Sweep Frederiksted is a volunteer coalition of community stakeholders dedicated to the economic development and revitalization of Frederiksted. Our mission is to support these efforts by creating and maintaining a litter free and pristine community. Through organized clean ups and other efforts we hope to teach behaviors that will result in helping to create a cleaner, safer and more vibrant community.
On October 25, 2014 we held out first community clean up - Clean Sweep Day. Over 200 volunteers fanned out on every street and beach in the town of Frederiksted to pick up trash and debris.
CSF also held weekend cleans up in from November 22-December 20 in preperatin for the Holiday Festival. Each weekend a major street was targeted for trash removal. Several buildings and lots filled with debris were cleared.
In 2015 Clean Sweep Frederiksted will implement additional clean up events, education programs and an Earth Day street fair aimed with the goal of engaging the community in creating a litter free zone.
Presently Clean Sweep Frederiksted is an all volunteer organization, but is working toward becoming a recognized nonprofit.
All of the money raised goes toward purchasing the tools needed to meet our goal. These items inlcude trash bags, gloves, rakes, industrial brooms, safety vests and community trash receptacles. We also accept in kind donations.
We are also seeking funding to pay cover our nonprofit start up fees. All donations are strickly accounted for and financial documents will be made available upon request.
