On September 15th Jc was in a critical motorcycle accident on Hwy 288 and County Road 45 south of Houston, TX and had to be life flighted to Memorial Herman Medical Center where he spent about a week in ICU and another two in a half weeks in a regular hospital unit before finally getting to go home. After that we made two trips to the ER and on the second visit he was readmitted because of an infection in his left leg.
We have been informed recently that Jc's medical bills are much much higher than we had originally been anticipating. His bill has already surpassed the half million mark and that is only including medical care before he was readmitted to the hospital for the possible MRSA/Staph infection in his left leg.
I have set up this new fund reflecting that burden to possibly help us keep our family afloat while we find a way to get him into a nursing facility after this infection is taken care of so that he can complete physical therapy and get the adequate care that he needs for the extent of his injuries.
So, I am asking from the bottom of my heart for everyone to lend us a helping hand so that we may get through this time without much more worry and stress than we are already enduring at this time. Jcs accident caused him many injuries and he has had 5 major surgeries. Today he will go in for his 6th surgery to take care of an infection he got in the tissues of his previous surgical site from 3 weeks ago.
His injuries from the accident:
-Smashed left wrist giving him bone loss in his wrist.
-Dislocated left elbow.
-2 large holes in his mesenteric artery.
-Fracture in his right tibia right next to his knee
-Badly torn ACL ligament, a minor tear in his PCL, and a stretched nerve in his left leg.
-Both hip joints were broken.
-Both ankles have minor fractures
-Minor fracture in his right elbow
Surgeries:
-Pins placed in both hip joints.
-Repair of mesenteric artery.
-Repair of fracture in right tibia/knee area.
-Repair of ligaments and placement of stretched nerve in left leg.
-Plates, pins, screws placed in left wrist to stabilize his wrist and promote regrowth of lost bone.
-Wound washing and re stitching of his previous surgical site on left leg to treat a possible MRSA infection.
-Another wound washing is scheduled for October 25th as well
-Plastic surgery to place a skin graft on his left leg is in the future as well.
This fund will be used to help with living expenses, out of pocket medical costs such as prescriptions and equipment as needed, And of course to help lighten the burden of our 1/2 million + in medical bills that we are currently facing. This gofundme website is going to stay up for the unforeseeable future so that we may receive financial help from those whom would like to help us during this time of burden, struggle, and healing!!
