Jaylin Kennedy Cooper Williams is/was my great nephew. My sister Lisa’s grandson. He just turned 21 on February 19! Jaylin was one of the Sweetest, humble and sensitive kids I’ve ever known. He loved his family sooo very much and never hesitated to express it by telling us how much he loved us frequently. Jaylin loved basketball and played at Farragut High School in Chicago. Fighting against the odds living in the heart of one of the WESTSIDE of Chicagos roughest areas, Garfield Park, He graduated in 2022. That same year, We lost his mother, Nicole affectionately known as “MOONPIE” from heart failure in September of that same year. Jaylin lived in Norfolk Virginia for 6 years while his mom served her country in the United States Navy. Upon her Honorary Discharge for medical reasons in 2015, Jaylin and his siblings watched their mom battle heart failure including numerous stays in the hospital fighting for her life for 7 years. She struggled as her heart was only functioning at 10%. His mom’s heart was failing because it was Congenial. After getting a heart transplant in 2019, her body started rejecting the new heart in early 2022 and she died in her sleep on Tuesday September 27th 2022. Jaylin and his siblings were Devastated. This also left Jaylin and his younger brother Ky displaced. Jaylin worked and struggled to save his mom’s apartment for him and his brother but after 3 months, was displaced. They moved in with his grandmother Lisa, my sister, where he lived until his death. Jaylin went to bed as usual Friday March 15th and passed away in his sleep. Lisa found him deceased at 11AM Saturday morning. His autopsy was inconclusive. We find some peace in knowing that the Lord called him home and that his life wasn’t taken away by the streets or any violence. I’m Jaylins great aunt Deidra and Jaylin was more like my grandson than a nephew. I’m organizing this Gofund me, not to exploit or beg anyone, but to ask our communities to reach out and help my sister, lay Jaylin to rest next to his moms burial plot. His other arrangements are in the making and can be paid for. But it would give my grieving sister Lisa soo much peace knowing that he will rest next to his mom. Our family is still reeling and grieving that great loss as well. The cost of the plot is $4600 and we wouldn’t dare ask for more. Whether it’s a $100 or $1, all donations are a blessing and soo very much appreciated. Some of you guys have watched me vlog my family’s life for the past 9 years on YouTube. We’ve enjoyed vlogging for you and hope that find it in your hearts to pledge a donation for this cause. Thank you soo much for your kindness and love during my family’s time of bereavement❤️
