Jay's Story

Donation protected
UPDATE/EDIT: Hello again :) What an overwhelming response we have received from our community! Thank you to EVERYONE who has donated to Jays fight agaisnt cancer. As you would know, Eddie and his team on tripple M and a very special anonymous donator genorously donated flights to get them back to Aus to be reunited with their girls. Amazing!! ❤️ The money raised through Jay's go fund me page will be used for Jay's future treament as it will be ongoing. He will have to travel to Mexico on several occasions over the next year or so until he seeks the ultimate....... REMISSION! You guys have been such a special part of saving Jay's life and we honestly cant thank you enough. We would also like to mention that so many other cancer patients have been watching Jays story and its given them hope and educated them that there is alternative treatment available. Lets hope more lives are saved because of Jay's journey :) UPDATE: Hi guys and girls, As you are all aware, Jay is currently receiving treatmemt at the Hope 4 Cancer Centre in Cancun, Mexico. Because of your generosity we were able to raise $63000 for his treatment and to get him to Mexico. Now with the upexpected cost of flights to get them home has hit hard! His treatment is proving to be successful which is amazing news! He is doing great and has more tests in a couple of days to see if his tumor has shrunk even more! BUT sadly, its not all good news. Him and Bec are stuck in Mexico and cant get home. Because of covid-19 alot of countries boarders are closed and there's hardly any flights available unless they pay $20k per flight so 40k in total and pray that it doesn't get cancelled. We (a group of family and friends) have worked incredibly hard to try get some help and answers from the government as they approved Jay's travels for medical reasons. Unfortunately our cry for help has been unsuccessful. We've contacted local MPs, media, lawyers ect. We are now in contact with a Lawyer in Sydney. Things are becoming very serious as their 2 daughters are back in Aus and Bec is heavily pregnant so we need to get them home immediately. When they do get home they will still need to quarantine for 14 days so finding flights is now essential. Jay has 4 days left of treatment and then is able to come home. I know we've already asked for your help, but please share this go fund me page and get Jay's story out there. Lets get them home to their babies. This family has been through enough!! Check out Channel 9 at 4pm on 25/8/2020 as Jay is being interviewed!! Thank you so much for your support and generosity once again. Jay couldn't have received his life saving treatment without you. You all are our heroes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I know this is a long shot, but I'm reaching out to you with a very heavy heart. We need your help. We are aiming to get 8000 people to donate $10. Why you ask?. Here's why: This is Jay's story. His life. Jay is 35 years old, has a beautiful fiance Beck, 2 gorgeous girls, Tay and Maddi, he's a business owner, is a tradie and loves the gym, wake boarding and mountain bike riding. Last February, Jay was diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma or HCC. It means that he had a cancerous tumor on his liver. He was in agonising pain and he required major surgery and extensive recovery and further treatment. Part of his liver was removed, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. He's still on chemo now. Many months later and after his treatment he was told he was cancer free, or so we thought. Last month, he went for his usual check ups of scans and blood tests. We were shocked and devastated to find out that his cancer was back. At just 35 years old he has an aggressive cancer in his lymphnodes and a tumor that's already grown 3cm. His doctors have told him there's no surgery available and no treatment. There's nothing that they can do. We can't take no for an answer. We can't lose him. Beck can't lose him and Maddi and Tay can't lose him. Oh, and did I mention that Beck is 15 weeks pregnant with their little miracle baby? Jay has to keep fighting! He's a family man, he's determined and it's not his time yet! Beck is a super women and has found a Cancer centre in Mexico called Hope4cancer that does alternative treatments that aren't available in Australia. But the costs to get him there on a mercy flight, keep him protected and safe, the implementation of treatment, accommodation, ect is tallying up and very expensive. The treatment alone is $39000USD. I know times are extremely tough at the moment and people are already hurting, but we are Aussies and sticking together to support one another is what we do best! Even if you can't donate, please share Jay's story so he can get the treatment he needs so he can watch his girls grow. I'll keep everyone updated with his progress. One last thing.....
