Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara Blanket Drive
Donation protected
Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara
Hawara’s has served as a safety blanket for the well-being of the Sikh community, and in his honor, we will be donating the same type of safety through blankets, to the wider community here in the Bay Area. His commitment to the safety of humanity through his courageous acts of bravery have given him widespread support throughout the Sikh community, within Panjab and abroad.
The Indian media has funded a multi-million dollar, 25+ year propoganda campaign that labels him, and many other Sikhs, as extremists, as he remains a primary figure against their agenda of genocide and suppression. He continues to be held in the Indian Prison System today, however his spirit of bravery, and legacy of fighting oppression remains unparalleled.
Let’s help our communities, as he continues to encourage us to do from letters he sends out of his jail cell.
On Friday, January 22nd, the Sikh community in the Bay Area will distribute blankets and food to the large homeless population residing in Berkeley, CA. Donations collected by Monday, January 18th will be used to buy blankets and other supplies. These materials will then be distributed to the homeless community in Berkeley, CA on Friday, 1/22 at 2 pm. You can see pictures of event on the Instagram page __prabhjotsingh
The goal is $1,973, the year he was born. Funds will stop being collected on Sunday, 1/17, at 8 pm. All funds will go directly into buying blankets and supplies for the homeless population.
