Jasmin became a guardian of 3!

Let me tell you about my friend Jasmin. About 2 months ago she was living a pretty ordinary life- the life any other 29 year old would have. Single, good job, just recently bought a house, traveling and just having a good old time. All of a sudden she got a phone call that her 5 year old nephew had died from a horrible drinking and driving car accident. The irresponsible mother of the little boy named Kareem was driving the vehicle when this crash occurred.
Fast forward to today- the three older siblings of Kareem were left behind and were about to be put through the Foster care system. Nobody else in the family was able to take all 3 boys in so this is where Jasmin’s life changed forever. She has a HUGE amazing heart and without a single doubt decided to do everything that she could so that her nephews would have somewhat of a stable and normal life with her.
Altought she has applied for every program possible through the state of Michigan to get financial aid for the care of the boys, everything has to follow a processand and this takes time. I would love to think that when that process happens she will get the aid that she needs to be able to support herself and the boys. But while that is in the works- she is barely keeping afloat. Bills need to get paid but at the same time she has had to prioritize between school supplies, food, personal hygiene items, household items, and others.
I just want to get her going through these rough times. I can’t imagine her getting much rest every night knowing that every next day will bring her new challenges to face much bigger than she could’ve ever imagined.
The boys:
Steven is 16- the oldest of the pack. He knows how big his responsibility as the big brother is. But he is also struggling every day trying to find out who he is, where he is from, and in what direction he is going.
Ishman is 14- the middle man. He is smart, sweet and helpful around the house. Although you can tell he has a lot of questions, he knows those will get answered as soon as life for them settles a little bit more.
Isiah is 7- the little guy. Wow what a little bundle of energy! Isiah will put a big smile on my face  every time I’m there. He is too young to understand anything, but in his world he is surrounded by people that love him and that is enough. Isiah besides from being an amazing little boy, he has his own chanlleges with disabilities.
Lets help them out! Did I mention they weren’t able to bring any of their belongings from their previous living situation because of pest and bug infestation at their house?
Thank you Jasmin for reminding me that family always comes first and for giving these kids a shot in life.
