Jarrett's Mission Trip Fund

Hi, my name is Jarrett McKenzie and I am a 17 year old student at Smithson Valley High School. I have grown up in a loving family all of my life and have been very lucky. We went to church every Sunday and did what most Christians do. But I still felt like a part of me was in the wrong. I dealt with it as many people do, forgetting about it and letting it go. I eventually gave up on trying to figure out what it was and came to the conclusion that something was just wrong with me. My parents thought it was me being stressed out, dealing with the death of a grandfather that was very close to me. I thought I was going to lose it, and I went off the rails for a few months. Then one day, my mother told me that I needed to go to a doctor or see a therapist because I was not the same person I was. So that is what I did, and I was diagnosed with depression. That was rock bottom for me, I never imagined that I, one of the most popular kids in school, and such a loving family, could be depressed. So I decided that it wasn't any sort of medication that I needed. I tried something I had not done in a very long time. Pray. I prayed, and I asked God for guidance and to show me what he wants me to do and he sent me a sign. He sent me the sign that I need to start living out for him instead of doing the things that I saw I should do. Two weeks later I was presented with a sign of what he wants me to do. I have been blessed enough to receive an opportunity to actually go out and be the hands and feet of Him. Community Bible Church Bulverde has a "youth group" called Inside Out. This summer this youth group is taking a mission trip to Jamaica to teach the youth about Jesus and help the kids over there learn the ways of Him. We will also help build an infirmary and many more things. The only problem is, this mission trip will cost more money than I have. I will need to raise $2,000 to go on this trip. This will buy my plane ticket, transportation in Jamaica, insurance, and money for necessities. The part of Jamaica we will be in is a mess, being the poorest part of Jamaica. Help my youth group and I go teach them that Jesus is there for them and that he has a certain path for them. Whether you give or not, I hope this testimony has inspired you and set a spark off in you. God is love, and He is always there for us. We cannot do life with out him.
