Jan Rudy 84 yr old man homeless during COVID
NY1 Video and Article About Jan
NY1 recently reported on an 84 year-old Queens man named Jan Rudy who has been living on the street for 24 years. A former song writer who once sold a song to Frank Sinatra’s producer, Jan lost his daytime job in the 90’s and was soon evicted from his home along with his wife and three children. He hasn’t been able to recover since and now during COVID-19 he is especially vulnerable and at risk.
It would be incredibly special if New Yorkers could come together to support and help this gentleman secure safe housing if even for the duration of the virus. I’m hoping that enough money will be raised for him to have a place to sleep and rest. Local bar owners and residents of Maspeth have been generous in offering him food and temporary shelter on some days but COVID is making that very difficult.
Any amount can end up totaling to something substantial if you can afford to give.
I plan on finding him in Maspeth and giving him the money directly. I have already contacted Specteum NY1 News and will ask for help if I can’t immediately find him.
