About This Campaign

My name is Kirshie (Hershey with a K), and my family is banding together to support our loved ones in St. Thomas, Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa heavily impacted their food supply. Many other households in the parish were also affected, and if the campaign grows, we hope to help them too.

My aunt and uncle shared that every fruit tree and provision in their yard is gone, a reality many people in the parish are facing. While rebuilding will take time, our immediate goal is to provide monthly food boxes filled with essentials to help our family through recovery until they can grow, harvest, and stabilize again.

Transparency & Background

I was born in Antigua and Barbuda and have strong family ties in Jamaica. All funds raised will go directly toward food boxes and basic supplies, sourced locally when possible, and covering transportation costs to ensure our family receives them safely.

What the Donations Will Do

Each box will include essentials like:

Rice and flour

Tinned goods

Oil

Toiletries

Other basic supplies

Each box will be filled with love and essentials to support daily life, from food staples to small comfort items that make recovery a little easier.

Our Goal

We’re starting with a goal of $5,000 USD to provide food boxes and basic supplies for our family as they recover from Hurricane Melissa. We’ll source items locally whenever possible to support the community economy and ensure all donations go directly toward supplies and transportation.

Why “Jah Make Ya”

The name and video come from my brother, Kenne Blessin’s song, Jah Make Ya, a playful twist on the name Jamaica. It’s a reminder that even in the face of devastation, we can rise, rebuild, and keep moving forward together. The Jamaican flag is a symbol of strength, unity, and hope, reflecting the spirit of our family and community as we work to recover and restore what was lost.
