My name is Jaden and I'm a black, queer transboi.

I started wearing a bra when I seven and quickly became aware of how my body would be surveilled and violated, and how having large breasts would shape my understanding of my sexuality, gender, and my connection to trauma. Navigating this world as black and trans is difficult because of how this world sees black bodies and trans bodies. Sometimes it feels impossible to be present in this body, let alone love this body. After years of binding, a lot of reflection, and a lot of gate-keeping from Kaiser, I finally have a surgery date: September 28th! I'm finally going to be able to say goodbye to my breasts. I'm finally going to learn how to breathe deeply and become present in this body; this black, bruised, resilient body. This journey through gender is facinating, and confusing, and amazing, and scary, and so worth it. This is a journey of self-love.

While I do have insurance, this would cover the remaining costs: co-pay, post surgery care and remedies, and costs associated with 2 weeks off from work.
