Jacques Agbobly Studio & Thesis Fund
Spende geschützt

Hi, my name is Jacques Agbobly . I am a queer, Black designer and textile artist. This past May, I was the first person in my family to graduate from college (Parsons School of Design '20). Due to Covid-19 and today’s political climate, my graduation plans never came to fruition. Covid-19 has left me with an unfinished thesis project, lack of financial and instructional support, and no access to the on-campus specialty equipment and facilities that I relied on to begin my thesis. Unfortunately, I’ve been left without work as many companies are not hiring due to the effects of the global pandemic, and the job I was in the middle of securing has been delayed until further notice. I’m currently trying to fund a recently secured studio space so that I can get myself back on track.
Design and fashion graduates rely heavily on their thesis to display their capabilities and practices. With an unfinished thesis, I am left with only a fraction of work that displays what I am truly capable of to potential employers. Being able to work on my thesis in this new space will allow for a stronger portfolio that can be used for potential job interviews and opportunities. This GoFundMe will go towards paying for a studio space and necessary materials / supplies that are vital to finishing my thesis in a timely manner. I’d also like to use this space as a launchpad for a small knitwear label to serve as my main source of income while actively searching for job opportunities.
Thank you for taking time to read this. I am extremely grateful for any donations made, as this will help me navigate through my current circumstances.
