Jackson's Ramp Van Fundraiser

Jackson has severe Cerebral Palsy and is considered medically fragile. He is wheelchair bound and is completely dependent on my mom for all of his care. My mom, Jane, is so devoted to Jackson's care, but has very limited financial resources because of all the time caring for him requires.

Their current Chrysler van has 152,600 miles and requires a significant amount of money for repairs. In the last few months, they have had problems such as sitting in stand still traffic, in 98 degree weather, and the air conditioning stopped working. The van has broken down on many occasions, requiring my mom to call a medical transport taxi costing over $100 to take him to an urgent doctor’s appointment… It’s time for a new van!

Our goal is to purchase a low mileage, pre-owned van that has a wheel chair ramp adaptation. They are planning on purchasing from AMS Vans, a company that sells low-priced handicap vans.  They are applying for grants from Fragile Kids Foundation and from Jackson EMC. AMS Vans will also offer a discount for families working with the Fragile Kids Foundation.
