Jackie Wallace Dedication

Hi, my name is Ross Harvey. I have proposed to the City of Montreal, CDN/NDG Borough that we dedicate the field at the north end of Girouard Park (NDG Park) as Jackie Wallace Field and that we erect a 10 foot statue in his honour at the North East entrance to the park - in deep centre field. Mitchell Kotansky, a renowned NDG Sculptor has been consulted on the project and by his estimates the cost of creating and finishing a 4-5' life-sized sculpture of Jackie will be in the neighbourhood of $40,000.00. In addition, the sculpture will be mounted on a 5' concrete base. I believe that there is possibly no more fitting tribute to a man who was a living legend in NDG and gave over 50 years of his life to NDG Sports - as a coach, administrator, referee and umpire. My interest is in honouring his memory and ensuring that future generations have the benefit of knowing what a great and selfless man Jackie was. I am asking everyone who reads this to please circulate it widely so that we may gather the necessary funds to make this dedication a certainty. Many thanks in advance.
