Jacqueline "Jackie" Mosquera

Our beloved Jackie, valiantly battled ovarian cancer for eight years. On February 19th she peacefully passed away surrounded by the embrace of her family and friends. Jackie's spirit was an embodiment of intelligence, thoughtfulness, empathy, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Jackie's memory will live in our hearts and minds forever.

Jackie was born and raised in Newark and then lived most of her life in Kearny. She earned her high school degree from Saint Vincent Academy, her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University - Newark, her master's degree from Saint Elizabeth University, and her early childhood certification from Caldwell University. Her professional journey traversed significant paths. Beginning as editorial assistant for the Star Ledger, then assignment editor at Univision, she later transitioned to Telemundo before finding her true calling as a teacher. As an early childhood educator and later as a master teacher across Newark, Paterson, Bayonne, and Morristown, Jackie's dedication to children reflected her profound love for teaching and fostering growth.

Jackie had a beautiful smile and the best sense of humor. She loved to travel, have fun and spend time with her family, her boyfriend, friends, and fur babies - Wookie and Luna.

She was a vocal advocate for the rights of women, indigenous people, children, and animals. She was outspoken, genuine, and believed in empowering others to stand tall in the face of adversity, leaving an enduring impact on all whose lives she touched.

Jackie's parents and siblings wish to honor her through charitable giving and the establishment of an educational scholarship in her name. All proceeds will be split among charities that help children, animals, women, and indigenous people. Thank you for helping us to keep Jackie's memory alive.
