Jack Armstrong's Post-Surgery Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Linda Bard, and together with Cinda Lonsway, we are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our long-time friend, Jack Armstrong, a gifted spiritual guide and author of “Lessons from the Source.”

In May, Jack was hospitalized after an exam showed he needed immediate open heart surgery. The procedure itself (a triple bypass and aortic valve replacement) went well.

It’s what happened afterward that turned his world upside down.

Jack experienced several minor strokes (including a significant one in his right occipital lobe), blood infections and clots, plus several scary and still-unexplained incidents that made his partner Joan, and his son Andy, feel like the end might be near.

3 hospitals. 55 days. In a row.

We’re grateful Jack is home now and recovering slowly. But there are many more unknown challenges ahead… most of them aftereffects of the strokes.

Here are just a few:

- His Vision - One eye is seriously blurred, while both seem to be operating independently of each other, making it hard to read much of anything that doesn’t have a large font.

- His Mobility - Moving about with a walker and cane, but no possibility of driving in the immediate future.

- His Cognition – Various memory issues: like a frustrating inability to remember people and things he’d been familiar with for years. Even more impactful are the difficulties with his written and verbal expression that have been such an important part of his life.

We’re sure you can appreciate the irony of Jack needing to have his heart repaired because that is the one thing he has given tirelessly to those around him.

Years ago, Jack consciously decided to share the vast majority of the teachings he’d transcribed from Source with the world at no cost, rather than finding ways to monetize them.

This was based on his strong belief that the messages he received were a gift from Source, and that he should pass that gift along to those who would find them helpful.

And there are hundreds upon hundreds of people who have been guided and uplifted by those teachings.

You might well be one of them.

As one person who responded to his Facebook update on his ordeal said:

You are so clear, forthcoming and transparent about this astonishing part of your journey. Everything in me wants to make it better for you. And, of course, that’s not your point. You - in your always kind, generous & thoughtful way - are simply telling me and all of us how it is with you and how you are dealing with it. And then you provide an invitation not to feel sorry for you or try to fix anything, but rather to find our own way of dealing with the hard work you are doing for yourself.

During his long post-surgery recovery, Jack has been extremely limited from opportunities for income from other creative expressions, which had previously helped ease monthly financial pressures.

He is now living from one Social Security check to the next, but those amounts are nowhere near adequate to cover rent, food and monthly bills, requiring Jack to take money from rapidly diminishing retirement funds.

But that hasn’t diminished his spirit.

As Jack relayed, “I have no idea exactly what it will be like, how long it might last, or what the true cost of all of this might be. But I’m extraordinarily grateful to still be here to experience it.

That's quintessential Jack. He has lived a life of service and love. And now it’s our chance to create an opportunity for him to receive from all of us.

By covering six months of expenses, we can provide a bridge of support to a dear friend who has gone over and above to support and inspire so many of us as he rests and heals during a very stressful time in this challenging health journey.

Many of you may be friends or colleagues of Jack’s and, like us, want to see him back on his feet - happy, healthy, thriving and continuing to do his great healing work in the world.

And that’s why we’re asking for you to be a part of Jack’s healing by donating to this GoFundMe campaign.

Every little bit helps! Please contribute what feels good for you. We'd be grateful if you could also share this link with your communities and anyone you know who has been touched by Jack and his work.

Thanks so much for your generous heart and for supporting Jack in whatever way you can!

With gratitude,
Linda & Cinda
