Jack and Nancy Markley

I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all had moments in our lives where we’ve hit hard times.  Those moments are so trying and leave us feeling scared and unsure of where to turn.  After much thought and consideration, we have decided that we must turn to our extended family and friends to ask for help.

Jack, 92 years old, and a WW2 era veteran, recently retired from his business last year after having knee surgery.  Nancy is 87 years old and a homemaker who dedicated her life to her husband, five children, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.  Nancy has dealt with numerous health issues over the past several years and has continued to trust that God will fully restore her health.  Jack and Nancy Markley never thought twice about giving to others over the years.  They have opened their home to many people and have given money to help others throughout their lives.  When we think about the epitome of selflessness, we think of these two people.  As many of you know, one of their joys is to make homemade jelly and give it to all of their family and friends.

Jack and Nancy have dedicated their lives to the Lord and to their family and friends.  Unfortunately they have reached a point where they can no longer support themselves.  Despite their best efforts, they need help paying their bills in order to keep their home.  Our family is doing all that we can to assist them but the situation has grown beyond our capacity.  While we work on trying to get their home ready to be sold, there is a lot of work to be done and a lot of bills to be paid.  It would truly be devastating if they were to lose their home while we help them prepare to get it on the market.

We are asking you to open your heart and donate toward the growing list of taxes, utilities, and medical bills that have piled up.  No amount is too small and we thank you so much for a donation to help them get back on their feet.  Please pray for them as they go through this difficult time.  In their advanced years, this type of uncertainty is both stressful and scary.  They need all of our love and support.

Sincerely,

Jack Markley

4/20/18 - Some additional details about this Go Fund Me...
My name is Sara Flanigan and I'm the granddaughter of Jack and Nancy Markley.  My father, Jack Markley, is the eldest child of Jack and Nancy.  My father has been instrumental in assisting my grandparents through the process to help my grandparents through this difficult time.  As my father dug into my grandparents finances, it become clear that they need help.  My grandparents lives in southern NJ and my parents and I live in PA.  Unfortunately we are a good hour away from them but do our best to see them as frequently as possible to help them out.  We are using these funds to pay off old bills that have not been paid for quite a long time.  My grandparents have numerous utility bills and medical bills that are unpaid.  We're sad to say that their utilities were even turned off a few times prior to us getting involved.  All of the money already raised has been used to pay bills such as a large gas bill and we even recently received a bill for $9K from their health insurance provider.  Any money raised will be going toward that large unpaid health insurance bill.  Our hope is to keep them in their home for as long as possible while it's prepared for sale.  Any money raised goes directly to my grandparents account.  My father is power of attorney and has the ability to pay all of my grandparents bills on their behalf.
