Jack and Jill and BUMBLEance Fundraiser
Graysen was born at 26+6 weeks on the 23rd of December, 2019.
We have been home for only 3 weeks since he’s been born.
In July, Graysen got a tracheostomy as an emergency. Our lives changed forever and we cannot go home until we have nurses to help care for Graysen and we are trained to the highest level possible to care for him.
We have been in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin since July and won’t be home for Graysen’s 1st Birthday or his first official Christmas.
To celebrate Graysen’s achievements and his 1st birthday, we would hope to raise some essential funds for two amazing organisations close to our hearts.
We hope our family, friends and all the people we have met along the way and have been touched by Graysen’s story will support these non-profit foundations so that they can continue to run their invaluable services.
The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage who suffer intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling the family to purchase home respite care. The foundation gives families the gift of time, time to do the things we so often take for granted but are very hard to find time to do for these families such as running errands, meeting friends, going on dates and a good nights sleep. For these families they cannot leave their child unless a trained nurse is in their home to take over care.
BUMBLEance is the world’s first fully interactive, state-of-the-art, children’s ambulance service. It provides a national service for critically and seriously ill children in Ireland who require transportation from their home, to and from hospitals etc nationwide for appointments or admissions. BUMBLEance was created by parents who understand how difficult it can be to transport a medically complexed or sick child to and from hospital. Their aim is to distract, comfort and entertain children in their amazing and fun BUMBLEances.
