The story of Unconditional Love serves as a passion project and a personal story. The show was created because we were not seeing our stories told in an authentic way in mainstream media. As content creators, we find it especially important to include images that are often ignored, erased, or exploited. We decided to fill the void by creating a show with a gay, black men at the forefront. For funding, half of the resources for the show were out of pocket. Our small, but passionate crew spends long days on set to capture the humanity and complexities of these characters. Our show humanizes the marginalized and we take pride in telling responsible, impactful stories where everyone can draw experience. In a society that tries to limit and stifle anything outside of the “status quo”, we are grateful to be able to use our platform creatively and responsibly to fully express the human condition in a holistic way.
