CADA KILÓMETRO CUENTA - Every KM counts!

Hola a tod@s, antes de oír mi historia y el porqué de esta iniciativa, ¡os quiero dar las gracias por vuestra donación! For my English speaking friends, read below!

Todo comenzó en abril de 2022 cuando mi gran amigo Pablo y yo, decidimos ir a Uganda para visitar y ayudar a su amigo Juan, que estaba haciendo un voluntariado como médico en St. Mary´s Hospital Lacor, Gulu.

Después de llevar unos días allí, conviviendo y descubriendo las historias tanto de otros voluntarios como de la población Ugandesa, empezó nuestra segunda aventura, conocer a los niños que se encontraban en el orfanato St. Jude Children's Home, que también forma parte del hospital.

Recuerdo con mucha emoción aquellos días, ver a los niñ@s sonreír, gritar y correr, detrás del balón junto con las muestras de cariño que nos daban y nuestra atención, pudimos contribuir a que tuviesen un recuerdo tan especial.

Desde entonces y tras pensar cómo podía aportar mi granito de arena, se me ocurrió utilizar una de mis grandes pasiones que es el deporte para ayudarles.

No hay mejor momento para comenzar mi primera recaduación de fondos, que en la media maratón de San Sebastían el 27 de noviembre 2022. Cualquier donación se agradece e irá destinado totalmente al orfanato. Yo solo os doy una idea, ¿qué os parece 1€ por cada kilómetro? Es decir 21€ ;)

Todo esto es por y para ellos, la gente de Uganda que merece una vida mejor.

It all started in April 2022 when my great friend Pablo and I decided to go to Uganda to visit and help his friend Juan, who was volunteering as a doctor at St. Mary's Hospital Lacor, Gulu.

After spending a few days there, living together and discovering the stories of both other volunteers and the Ugandan population, our second adventure began, meeting the children who were in the St. Jude Children's Home orphanage, which is also part of the hospital.

I remember those days with great emotion, seeing the children smile, shout and run behind the ball! We were able to contribute to making their days remarkable and special.

Since then, and after thinking about how I could contribute, it occurred to me to use one of my great passions, which is sports, to help and support them.

There is no better time to start my first fundraiser than at the San Sebastian Half Marathon on November 27, 2022. Any donation is appreciated and will go entirely to the orphanage. I'm just giving you an idea, what do you think about €1 per kilometer? That is €21 ;)

All this is by and for them, the people of Uganda who deserve a better life.
