Conservation Internship

I have an amazing opportunity to work on conservation for three months in Costa Rica!  

I was hired for a very competitive unpaid internship at Cloudbridge in the Talamanca mountains in Costa Rica.  The internship is for tropical bird monitoring and will contribute towards active conservation efforts.  The internship starts in January 2019, I will be arriving there at the end of this month.

While I am there, I will be working from 5:30am -3pm M-F on the trails monitoring and taking data on over 300 tropical bird species.  I will also work shifts at the Cloudbridge Welcome Center.  There is research that I may help with, and I will be giving a presentation at the end of my 3 months.

The internship is unpaid, and the work is vital to the mission of this conservation organization.  I need to fund travel and living expenses myself.

This support would mean for me a much better chance in getting into graduate school, getting a job in my field, and will help me forge lifelong connections.  I am also honing how best to apply my skills and talents in the field.

Here is where the funding will go towards:

$1500 - travel and hotel during travel expenses
This includes air travel -  (high season) Hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica,
and several buses each way.

$3115- room & board and food
approximate $35 a day for 89 days and nights
