Funeral expenses for my father, Angel

Hello, my name is Karla Quiroz. Ángel Quiroz was my father and he peacefully departed from this world on Monday morning. Back in March, he had traveled to my home country in Bolivia where he collapsed and suffered a stroke that ultimately left him paralyzed in half of his body with some other medical complications. Unfortunately, his savings, some personal belongings and cell phone were stolen when he fainted. My family resides in Virginia, so my older brother had to travel to pick him up, stopping work for almost 2 months. Many of the medical expenses had to be covered almost immediately however we all struggled to cover all costs. My father was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks at that time plus we were also looking into the cost of the return flight. Once he was back home with us, there were many more medical expenses, and due to gaps in the health system, it was incredibly difficult for us to obtain the proper care for him, so my younger brother stopped working for almost 8 months due to the intense care our father needed meanwhile we were still patiently waiting for some for proper medical care which hadn’t arrived until a month before his departure. By then all of us had spent all of our savings. His departure took all of us by surprise because if you knew him, you knew of what a strong and independent man he was. We did not imagine that he would leave us so soon and therefore we were not prepared for all the expenses incurred by a wake and a cremation. Any help is welcome, my brothers, my mother and I thank you with all our hearts.

Hola mi nombre es Karla, Ángel fue mi papá, lamentablemente el nos dejo el día Lunes por la madrugada. El sufrió una embolia que lo dejó paralizado medio cuerpo y con algunos otros problemas. Esto ocurrió en mi país, Bolivia, desafortunadamente, a el le robaron sus ahorros y el celular cuando se desmayó. Mi familia reside en Virginia, mi hermano tuvo que viajar para poder recogerlo, dejando de trabajar por casi 2 meses, se tuvo que cubrir los gastos del hospital ya que el estuvo internado por casi 2 semanas, más el gasto del vuelo de regreso. Ya en casa transcurrieron muchos gastos médicos, y por desfases del sistema de salud, se nos dificultó obtener cuidado para el, entonces mi otro hermano dejó de trabajar por casi 8 meses (por que mi papá necesitaba cuidado intenso), esperando la aprobación de este servicio el cual llegó un mes antes de su partida. Para ese entonces ya todos nosotros habíamos gastado todos nuestros ahorros. Su partida nos tomó de sorpresa por que no nos imaginábamos que nos iba a dejar tan pronto y por ende no estábamos preparados para todos los gastos que incurren un velorio y una cremación. Cualquier ayuda es bienvenida mis hermanos mi mamá y yo les agradecemos de todo corazón.
