Hearts for Jax

Donation protected
Jax was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy which is a disease of the heart muscle. We were not aware that he had this until he started showing symptoms at two months old. The night we rushed him to the ER, he went from a happy, smiling baby to breathing strange and not eating. We rushed him to the ER where he turned blue and had to be put on oxygen. The ER transported Jax to Moses Cone pediatric where he went into cardiac arrest. Shortly after he was air lifted to Duke. He is now on bypass (ecmo) which is a machine that plays as the heart and lungs. Our goal is to let his heart rest and hope that it heals. So far there hasn't been any change and we are leaning more towards a heart transplant. Jax is status-A on the transplant list.
I thought we lost our little boy. We stood there and watch them give Jax CPR; a sight that will haunt us forever. Shortly after, he was air lifted to Duke, he went into surgery and was put on bypass (ecmo) which is a machine that plays as the heart and lungs. Our goal is to let his heart rest and hope that it heals. So far there hasn't been any change and we are leaning more towards a heart transplant. He was already put on the heart transplant list but still can be 6-9 months, maybe even longer before he receives a heart. We lost our home, jobs and money. We lived an hour away and had no choice but to leave out rental home and job. We might have lost everything but that doesn't matter. We just want our son to live.
