Sister Karen's Teen Center

Sister Karen Klimczak has been an inspiration in my life. Her death, at the hands of someone she was trying to help, was hard for me to take. Yet, she left behind a community teen center in Buffalo, New York. We are one of the only Teen Centers, safe places, for youth to goto on Friday and Saturday nights in between the hours of 8pm and 11pm. I started volunteering here in 1999 and I have been here working since the first day we opened up. We are providing a safe place for our youth on the weekend. We do not charge a membership fee and we try to seek our funding from grants. This year (2014) we have seen two main funders defund us. This $7,500 loss hurt us dearly. Yet, I still come to the teen center on the weekends because the youth show up for a safe place to be. They could be on the street corners, but they chose to come to the teen center. 
I am humbly asking for your support to keep the teen center open and make some needed repairs. We run a summer program where we supervise 40 youth workers and they provide needed community service to the surrounding areas. It is my prayer that you would consider helping us raise funds and make this place honorable for Sister Karen and the youth in our community.
