I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my uncle, Bill, who was diagnosed with colon cancer on July 10th, 2025. This news has shaken our family, but we’re rallying around him with love, hope, and determination.

Uncle Bill isn’t just family—and he’s not just my uncle. He’s the man who raised me when my mother went to prison. He stepped in during one of the hardest times of my life and became a mentor, a leader, and a steady source of love and guidance. His influence shaped who I am today, and I truly wouldn’t be the person I am without him. He’s been one of the most positive forces in my life—and in the lives of many others. Now he needs our help.

Bill and his wife Dana have a beautiful family of nine children. Three of their daughters—Alawnah (18), Aliyah (16), and Ashlynn (12)—are still at home, and the emotional and financial strain of this diagnosis has touched every corner of their lives.

As Bill begins treatment, the financial burden is growing. Between medical bills, travel to specialists, and time away from work, the costs are overwhelming. And unfortunately, life hasn’t slowed down to make room for healing.

On July 15th, just one day before Bill’s major surgery, the AC compressor, condenser, and pulleys went out on their truck—an unexpected repair estimated between $1,500 and $3,000. Then, on July 28th, while Bill was still in the hospital recovering, their daughter Aliyah was in a serious car accident. She was life-flighted to Sioux Falls, SD two days later due to her injuries. Thankfully, she’s now recovering—but the crash totaled their only reliable vehicle. Because Aliyah wasn’t licensed, the insurance won’t cover the damage, leaving them responsible for a car they can’t drive and still have to pay for.

On top of everything, the cost of driving back and forth to chemotherapy appointments, follow-up visits, and other medical checkups is adding up quickly. With limited transportation and rising fuel costs, even getting to the care Bill needs has become a financial strain.

We’re hoping to ease some of the pressure so Bill and his family can focus on healing, recovery, and staying strong through this incredibly difficult time.
