Bring Hope to 1300 Ivorian families

Too often those of us who live comfortable lives miss the entire spectrum of humanity who share our planet in lives of desperate poverty. When recently visiting Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, I was awakend to a fragil region of vulnurable families where the average wage per day is $1.25/ 37.50 per month and it is estimated at the end of 2015 that 64% of the population will live under poverty level.
Ravaged by successive civil wars, the country has much progress to make in health care, education, child trafficking and child labor. Which brought me to the question, what can I do to help? A quote by the 14th Dalai Lama "Unfairness in the human condition can be remedied when people everywhere care." I care and know others care but may be unaware of the economic reality these beautiful humans face day in and out. We must understand that the results of extreme poverty robs people of options in life and the cycle is almost impossible to break without help.
At times, large organizations never get to the the true needs of the people due to protocal, procedures, and red tape.
That is where we come in! W have made a pledge to help over 1,300 families a year with 1 month's salary - which equals $40.00 US dollars by making 2 trips in 6 month increments and targeting 3 key areas each time. This will reach some of the poorest of the poor, honoring their lives, their struggles, encouraging action in those who can help, and giving hope to humans that may feel hopeless. This is a beautiful journey that we are beyond excited to take: to give hope to those who feel as though they may have been forgotten; impacting and helping one family at a time, creating long term change spiritually,mentally, physically and emotionally through this humanitarian cause!
