ISW Takes Guatemala 2018!

All of my wildest dreams are coming to fruition!
I knew at a very young age- after volunteering at a hospital in Antigua, Guatemala- that one day I would make a difference; even if that change only affected one child with needs. But little did I know that children of all shapes, sizes, and unique abilities would enter my life and my heart would never be the same. Guatemala has been my heart's home for over 15 years, since my initial visit. It has been a dream of mine to take my “It’s a Sensory World” family-like team to this incredible country. We are beyond excited to begin serving and advocating for the children, with needs, that inhabit the area. AGAIN, this dream is finally becoming a reality. The team of incredible teachers at It’s a Sensory World have volunteered their time to travel to Guatemala in June 2018. We hope to use the education and tools we have learned from It’s a Sensory World to help advocate and teach the children with unique needs and abilities in Guatemala. We will spend a week helping in ANY and EVERY way we can, but we need your help! A trip like this takes time, materials, and money. We are coming together as a team to raise money that will go towards materials for academics, communication visuals, flights, transportation, and hotels. Every single penny raised will benefit the children and be used solely on their basic demands.
The team will be serving at two different locations in Guatemala. We plan to teach our S.M.A.R.T model and whole body teaching methods; and our hope is to empower fellow Guatemalan teachers and educators that EVERY child with needs can be taught/ learn as long as you meet each child where they are at.
There will be 12 ISW team members making the trip and our goals include:
$1,500.00 per person
$18,000.00 as a group.
