Laptop for Our Little Edwin!

If you are a friend of or relation to myself, Jenny Crane or Daniel Mejia, then surely you know Edwin. When Daniel and I made the move to Westmont High School we met a husky, hot tempered and defeated young 10th grader.  Following a long history of failing grades, discipline referrals and low expectations, Edwin seemed ready to give up, but we saw a spark. He found his beloved Miss Jenny and took a leap of trust in Daniel and I's vision of his potential. He was scared and often laden with self-doubt, but the spark only continued to grow. A few challenging classes and report card "A's" later and Edwin couldn't be stopped. Thus started the amazing evolution that Daniel, Jenny and I have gotten to witness.

Having lost over 100 pounds in just one year, and running up to 3 miles a day, Edwin's physical evolution was just the beginning. With a 3.8 GPA and college plans a certainty, Edwin has grown into one of the most hardworking, kind and thoughtful students we know.  Now he is just missing one thing... 

Edwin does not have a computer at home. Though this never stopped him (using his tiny phone screen to access his highly internet dependent class requirements), with college in the imminent future we would like to help him in one last way by sending him off to college with a lap top of his own.  Any little bit helps, and trust me when I say that there could not be a more deserving young man. As a side bonus, Jenny and I are pretty sure that the smile we'd see from him would make our year (and its been a tough one) so help us out!!
