In June 2026, we (Luke & Max) will be taking on aintree half marathon, Ironman 70.3 Bolton—a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and a half marathon run—all in one race and Ironman Wales. 

We’re doing this for someone incredibly close to our hearts: Luke’s grandma, Norma, who sadly passed away on February 1st 2026 as a result of suffering from Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

MND is a devastating, progressive illness. It slowly takes away the ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe. Watching someone you love go through that is heart-wrenching—but through it all, Grandma Norma showed incredible strength and resilience. She was our inspiration.

We’re raising money for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, started by rugby legend Doddie Weir, who sadly lost his own battle with MND. The foundation funds life-changing research and supports people and families affected by this cruel disease.

This Ironman is going to be a serious physical and mental challenge—but nothing compared to the fight people with MND face every single day. We’ll be giving it everything we’ve got, in honour of Grandma Norma and the thousands of others affected.
