Irma Relief Funds for Mirjam and Bo
Donation protected
Because of the damage done by Hurricane Irma, our dear friend, Mirjam Wigman, has incurred a lot of unexpected costs in the past several days. Mirjam, the hardest-working single mother I've ever known, has lived on a modest teacher's salary for years.
No matter what has happened, no matter what kind of unforeseeable event has taken place in her life, she has always figured out a way to make ends meet without ever asking for assistance. I remember last year when Mirjam's car broke down and was in the shop, I offered to lend her money to have it fixed and she immediately refused on a matter of principle and wouldn't listen to any of my objections. She is proud and would never ask anything of anyone.
Mirjam's priority has always been to provide the best for Bo. She's done such a fantastic job of it; however, now, with stress levels running so high and with so much still happening on the island, I think this may be the best thing for Mirjam and will help set her mind at ease a bit more while she continues to help clean up and rebuild the island she calls home.
Meeting Mirjam eight years ago was one of the best days of my life. She and Bo have become my family, and I know if any of us were ever in a similar situation, she'd be helping in any way she could.
I am so grateful for any kind of donation you can make at this time. Love and hope to our Mirjam and Bo.
