iPads for Senior Living Communities

Hi everyone! We are Lauren He and Ashley Settle, two rising senior at Westlake High School. We found a nonprofit, Link for Seniors (linkforseniors.com), to help connect seniors to technology. Before COVID-19, we provided technology classes at senior living communities with high school volunteers teaching them. As you know, technology has become even more important in our lives to maintain connections during COVID-19! This is especially true for those living in senior living communities, and video chatting has been crucial in maintaining face-to-face interactions with loved ones.

However, not all seniors have the technology that can support these connections, so we have started donating tablets to senior living communities with residents who are in need of them. Currently, senior living communities have request 20 tablets in total. From the provider that we are working with to buy old iPads from, each iPad costs $100. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated, and all proceeds go directly toward purchasing the iPads!

If you have an old tablet of any type that still functions well and can support video chatting apps, it would mean so much to us if you’d be willing to donate it! If you are able to donate any tablets, you can leave the tablet outside your house, and we will come by to pick it up.
