Hello! Welcome to the first-ever "Invest in U," a program to help raise money for ULiftU from Subversus Fitness members Geoff and Evan Young.
Since some of you may already know what ULiftU is, you can skip ahead. If you're unfamiliar with ULiftU, in a nutshell, it's the non-profit arm of CrossFit Center City and Subversus Fitness that takes the unemployed, or citizens from State and Federal Re-Entry programs, or referrals from transitional housing partners in Philadelphia—and helps them achieve wellness.

So, what's this all about?
In short...
It's April! And that means it's tax season. Yay. Taxes.
But you do realize that charitable donations are tax-deductible, right? So Geoff and I were thinking, what better time of year to raise some awareness and some money for ULiftU than now, April 1st, through Tax Day, April 17th.
And what better way to do it than to put our bodies on the line.
Okay—so how you gonna do that?
Every single workout that Geoff and I do from April 1st through April 17th, we will be sporting a weight vest (we'll be "invested"—get it?).
And for our trouble, we're asking you—the person reading this—to consider sponsoring our workouts on a 1:1/dollar:pound ratio.
Which means... Geoff's thinking about doing a 20-lb vest, so he's looking to raise at least $20 per workout. I'm thinking of doing $25 lbs because #competition, so I'd be looking for $25 for every workout that I do. Or more, if you're feeling generous.
Simple, right!?
Lastly... this is starting with Geoff and me, but anyone else at Subversus who'd like to take part is more than welcome. All you have to do is a workout wearing a vest that weighs however much you're comfortable with, spread the word, and get people to donate right on this page!
So please consider contributing to the ULiftU cause, and keep your eyes peeled at Subversus or wherever you may see Geoff and me, or anyone else "invested" and working our butts off.
