Greetings everyone!

My name is Allison Hunt, and I am thrilled to share my journey with you. I am currently a sophomore at Minerva University, pursuing a double major in political science and philosophy. What sets Minerva apart is its global rotation program, which allows me to experience every semester in a different country. I started my journey in San Francisco, followed by a life-changing experience in Seoul, South Korea. Living in Korea, I gained valuable insights into the country's culture, norms, and government policies, including a deeper understanding of the North-South conflict.

My passion for human rights and educational equity inspired me to volunteer with PSCORE, a non-governmental organization advocating for North Korean defectors in South Korea. As an English teacher, I continue to promote educational equity for North Korean defectors in primary schools.

Recently, I received a prestigious scholarship called the "Critical Language Scholarship" (CLS) granted by the U.S. Department of State. I spent two months in Taiwan, studying Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese and Chinese culture. Previously, I virtually studied Mandarin in Chengdu, China, on another scholarship called National Security Language Initiative for Youth, also by the US DOS. Following CLS, I spent four more months in Taiwan, studying at National Taiwan University, the best university in Taiwan. Further, I was invited to visit schools across Taiwan to better understand the Taiwanese education system, meet students, and promote cross-cultural understanding and friendship.

This semester, I am studying in Hyderabad, India. I am also working with Teach For India, an organization committed to providing excellent education to all children.

My international experiences and knowledge of Korean and Chinese societies have encouraged me to apply to two prestigious youth conferences, the Korea-America Student Conference and the China-America Student Conference. I am honored to be selected as an American delegate and to discuss pressing issues our countries face with other delegates from South Korea, China, and the United States. I believe that my passion for educational equity and human rights, along with my unique perspectives, can bring new insights to such discussions.

As a student-run conference, I am seeking your help to attend these events. The total cost of both conferences is over $11,000, but I am responsible for only $6,000. I hope that you can help me raise the funds needed to attend these conferences, where I can work towards the betterment of our world.

Thank you so much!!!!
