On March 7th, 2016, the world lost Michael Courtney to a disease that many people are all to familiar with. He wasn't the first and he certainly won't be the last to lose the battle with heroin addiction.
Last year, with the help of Mike's friends and family, we were able to raise $2000, half going to YES community counseling and the other to Phoenix House. We celebrated Mike's life, watched football, connected with friends, we cried together but we mostly laughed telling stories about him. It was truly a beautiful day.
This year we are organizing a Flag Football Tournament with all proceeds and donations going to the same charities. The games will take place Sunday October 8th, 2017 from 9:00AM to 12:00PM at the Island Trees High School Football Field.
We've started making teams, if you are interested in captaining your own team, please contact Anthony at [phone redacted] or Facebook Message Anthony Victor Michael.
Team minimum is 7 people but you can have as many people as you want on your team. $20 per player with all donations going to charity. MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!
As the event gets closer and the number of teams are locked in, I will delegate what colors each team will be and time length of games so everyone gets a chance to play (winners vs winners, losers vs losers).
If you can't make the game, you can still help and donate here. We'll be collecting donations at the game and at the AFTER PARTY which will be held at...

We'll watch the games and celebrate Mike's life, and anyone elses who has been affected by this addiction, safely and responsibly.
With the event being bigger this year our goal is even bigger. We lost not just a friend but a brother...and if we could help save someone elses brother, we succeeded. Initiate the Change!
