It breaks my heart to write part 02 to this campaign of the terrifying story unfolding in India right now. Oxygen tanks, medical supplies and hospital beds are indeed the need of the hour. However the future of this nation which are its children cannot be ignored nor forgotten.
Children in India are tragically losing parents due to the unavailability of medical oxygen in hospitals across the country. Children have been orphaned overnight, lost their parents in their arms, some are still waiting for them to come home. Cases of child labour, child marriage, child trafficking and incest are on a rise as the orphaned children in the slums have been left highly vulnerable. The access to justice and psychosocial care to manage the grief and emotional state of children during this difficult time cannot be left unconsidered.
Narmada, a BMW Foundation Responsible Leader and founder of the luxury cashmere social business pink maharani is helping raising funds for our friends on the ground in India who are helping children who are in immediate need of trauma and grief counselling & long-term care based in New Delhi.
As India struggles with a catastrophic second wave of covid-19, the children are continually suffering without adequate care and loving support. Help us help them.
