In-country expenses for DNACambodia

Donation protected
The new NGO DNACambodia has just started working on our dream: Using DNA testing to help Cambodians find their missing family.

It all started very small, Kari Lemons started the Khmer Cousins DNA Project in 2012 in the USA by testing adopted children from Cambodia, starting with her two children. Meta Meulenbelt took a few DNA tests in 2019 to Cambodia on a trip to search for her adopted daughter’s birth family. Li-Da Kruger, adopted from Cambodia in 1975, tested in 2019 as part of her birth family search. Now working together as DNACambodia they dream of testing Cambodians in Cambodia and the worldwide diaspora to help find missing family members.

The DNA company MyHeritage, has donated several hundred DNA tests to help us with our dream.

Now the DNA tests are in Cambodia, the NGO is registered, and we have found an in-country Director to do the work. Now we need your help to fund the in-country costs for gathering DNA like salaries, office costs, travel costs, phone costs and international shipping costs. We need your help to fund for this cost for the first 6 months!

Average cost of living can be about the same as living in the USA. We want to pay a living wage to the people working for us in Cambodia.  We need about $1500 per month for the first 6 months. Thank You so much for assisting us!
