Inclusive Park for Griffin

This is Griffin, he has a genetic condition that limits his mobility and delays his development.

Regardless of the adversities he faces, he still loves to have fun.

 

Griffin and I have been faced with the dilemma of where we can play. The three parks nearest to his neighbourhood have sand bases and are only accessible via ladders, because of this griffin can not access the equipment.

 

Working as an early educator in central Alberta for years, I know how important play is for children. Gross and fine motor development, and to have the opportunity for social and emotional development. I dream of a place where griffin can be an engaged member of the community.

 

This park addition is not only for the 85/1000 children like Griffin who have mobility issues, are wheel chair bound or have sensory processing issues. This park addition is for all children.

 

Included in this addition is a ground level merry go round, a large saucer swing, flat flooring, and sensory items. The donation goal is for the full cost of the addition including ground work an installation. The park is located in Red Deer Alberta.

 

Any amount donated towards this cause will have a lasting impact on Griffin, the community and families that are a part of it.
