Nova Lesperance from Windsor, Ontario is a happy sweet, snuggly little fighter of a 5 month old who is currently battling cancer with all her little heart.
    A mass found in late January was diagnosed as Neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that forms on nerve tissue, in this case on her adrenal gland.
  Waiting and watching was tough. Doctors needed her big and strong enough to operate on, and hoped the tumour would shrink on its own, as can sometimes happen with this type of cancer in infants.
  Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Surgery on June 4 was unsuccessful.  The cancer has travelled to her heart. Only a portion of the cancer could be removed. A blood transfusion was required following surgery. 
  Nova is London right now awaiting chemotherapy and other treatments.  Her mother is staying with her.  Her dad,  14 year old sister and 1 year old brother are back and forth the between Windsor and London, spending as much time as they can with Nova.
