In remembrance of Andi and her family

Hi, my name is John ... I am Andi's husband. I lost my wife, best friend ... my person... my other self... on April 5th, 2022. She had a year-long battle with liver disease. On Wednesday of the last week, she started to run a temperature and was checked for flu and covid all negative. I took her temperature, which was 101.3. She stayed in bed all day and tried to rest. Her temperature returned to normal, and we took her for blood work on Friday. Saturday, when she woke up, we checked her blood pressure; it was 70/40. She could no longer stand. We checked the results of her blood work and immediately rushed her to the hospital. On initial tests, she had sepsis, a blood infection. Over the next four days, her heart, liver and kidneys started to fail. The doctors tried everything to save her, but she was beyond their help. Then on Tuesday, with me, her identical twin sister and the rest of her family by her side, I had her removed from life support. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

She was a beautiful soul and didn't want to burden the rest of the family and me with the medical costs of her treatment. Although we have insurance, we were entirely unprepared for the non-covered costs and charges of 4 days in the ICU, sudden funeral costs, the instantaneous loss of her income and all the other things that one would never think about. It is overwhelming on every level... financially, mentally, and emotionally.

Andi was in the medical field and always enjoyed helping people, loved her pets, and most of all, her family. The world lost a shining light, but she will always be remembered.
