Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride (4th July, 2021). In Memory of Mikey Cunniffe.
Mikey was such a handsome, intelligent young man. He was kind, compassionate and a wonderful person inside and out. He had the world at his feet. Tragically, Mikey passed away suddenly in October, 2020 and our world fell apart.
Our chosen charity is 'The Compassionate Friends'.
The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a charitable organisation of bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents dedicated to the support and care of other similarly bereaved family members who have suffered the death of a child or children of any age and from any cause.
Many people who have suffered the loss of a child feel a bond with others in the same situation and wish to extend the hand of friendship. TCF offers support, both directly to bereaved families, and indirectly by fostering understanding and good practice amongst professionals concerned with child death and by increasing public awareness.
In TCF, “family” covers a broad spectrum of relationships. They aim to help any individual or family affected by the death of a child, including unmarried partners, adoptive parents, step families, same sex couples and single parent families.
Kerry and I will take on the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride. The famous Manchester to Blackpool ride is a very popular event - 60 miles from Salford Quays to a great finish with music, food and drink on the South Promenade in Blackpool. If anyone would like to join us at the finnish line, your more than welcome. We're hoping for good weather and lots of cheer. X
