Toys For Tots

Donation protected
I read a article in the Mount Laurel Sun about Toys for Tots and have volunteered before at Burlington county Toys for Tots! I know exactly what the program entails. It isn't as cut and dry as it seems, there is 365 days of planning to go into giving out toys. I saw on facebook they have more applications this year because of covid, the toys that were left over and collected from last year were full of mold. The seabox container that was water tested before putting the toys in turned out to have some sort of leak with moisture. Atleast $5000 worth of toys were full of mold and damaged- there was no saving them. These toys were allotted to start up this season. In volunteering the few times that I have, i learned that the foundation doesn't offer monetary help . Whatever they have they either get donated or have raised money to buy toys. They use to get a $25,000 grant from Toys r Us, and with them being out of business it now puts more of a burden on their campaign to raise money. There has been an amazon wish list started hoping to generate something from businesses who are working from home on their facebook page its obvious they need our help. They serviced over 20,000 kids last year and 30% were military families from the Joint Base. I took these photos of their facebook page there are photos of their setup from last year which doesn't compare to what they seem to be going thru this year, and from the toys that are damaged. hoping someway we can give back.
