This fundraiser is for Fleur and Frank, and for the future their parents would have wanted for them.
On 29 December 2025, while on holiday in Andorra, Paul’s wife Joanna passed away suddenly. She leaves behind her two children, Fleur and Frank, who are now back in the UK with Paul.
Fleur and Frank lost their Dad when they were very young. It was this loss that brought Joanna into grief counselling. Years later, after Paul lost his first wife, he also attended counselling. It was there that Paul and Joanna met. What began as two people supporting each other through profound loss grew into love, partnership and family. Paul stepped into the role of father fully and without hesitation. To Fleur and Frank, he is simply Dad.
Paul joined the Royal Signals in 1989 and is still serving. For nearly four decades he has lived a life of duty, responsibility and quiet resilience. Tragically, this is the second time he has had to endure the loss of a wife. To face such heartbreak again is almost impossible to comprehend.
Despite his own grief, Paul’s entire focus is on the children – protecting them, reassuring them and giving them stability while their world has been turned upside down. At the same time, he is carrying the emotional and practical burden of bringing Joanna home and arranging her funeral.
Every penny raised through this fundraiser will be placed into a dedicated fund for Fleur and Frank. This fund is for their future – education, housing, a first car, and the security and opportunities that parents work their whole lives to provide. Paul’s only aim is to raise them properly, with love, structure and the chances their mum would have wanted for them.
We come together as brothers in support of one of our own and, above all, in support of Fleur and Frank. This is about standing shoulder to shoulder and ensuring these children are supported for the long term.
I write this on behalf of a group of veterans who want to support a brother.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference to their lives. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.
From one brother to another – thank you.
